Florida man Jan 24th 2015 – Florida man catches 119 lb carp in the Amazon rainforest
On Jan 24th 2015, a Florida man flew and sailed to the Amazon river within the Amazon rainforest in search of the ‘perfect carp’. The Florida man spent 24 months fishing for 24 hours a day before he caught the 119 lb carp. It took the Florida man over 24 hours to reel the carp in, where even 3 hooks and a net were not enough to bring the beast in.
Once caught, the Florida man released the 119 lb carp back into the river after taking photos with it, and the carp darted up river before becoming entangled with a python that strangled and killed the carp.

Florida man Jan 24th 2018 – Florida man wins EU strongman tournament
On Jan 24th 2018, a Florida man won the EU strongman tournament after entering himself as ‘Bjorn Bjornsson’, pretending he was born in Iceland. The Florida man was not allowed to compete due to the continental difference, and instead chose to fake his entry to be able to compete. The Florida man had been taking steroids and PEDs on the run up, and had taken a cup of his wife’s urine with him to supplement the tests on the athletes before the competition.
The Florida man won the competition, narrowly beating rivals such as Eddie Strongman and Hafthor Bjornsson. Before receiving his award, prize money and congratulatory drink he was asked to test one more time for PEDs and steroids, and unfortunately did not have his wife’s sample with him this time. The Florida man traveled home over the next 24 hours before the results were found, and was ultimately stripped of his first place position.
Our thoughts
It looks like Jan 24th is a date that the Florida man really wanted to win their prizes on. One wanted to double their money, one wanted to win the EU’s strongman and the other wanted to catch the world’s biggest carp. That’s one crazy set of stories for these Florida man entanglements.
