Florida man April 26 1987 – Florida man enters Guinness world records for the shortest recorded time of holding a Guinness world record
On April 26 1987, a Florida man entered the Guinness world records for holding a record for the shortest time in history. Glenn Reyes, a local Florida man, was competing for the most melons smashed within 60 seconds when he beat the old record of 126 live on TV. Unfortunately for the Florida man, at the same time another competitor was attempting to break the record, and topped the Florida man’s score by 26 melons smashed, completing his attempt 4 seconds after Glenn’s attempt ended.
The Florida man, who celebrated through the night for his victory, found out early the next morning that his record had already been beaten. He was offered a place in the records for holding the record for the shortest time in history, of which he accepted as an entry.
Florida man April 26 2016 – Florida man sues Sylvester Stallone for stealing his name
On April 26 1991, a Florida man attempted to sue Sylvester Stallone for stealing his name. The Florida man, named Rocky Balboa, aged 26 had only just heard of the Rocky films and watched them through. After noticing the difference between his and Rocky’s name, he realized Sylvester must have stolen his name for the films.
After a long court case, the court ruled in favor of Sylvester Stallone, as the plan fact was pointed out that Rocky Balboa was written before the Florida man was conceived, many years before. When we caught up with Stallone he said ‘this is the 26th time this has happened so far, parents name their kids, kids think they’re unique and then they sue me when they see the name has already been used’.
The Florida man declined to comment.
Florida man April 26 2017 – Florida man wraps the longest Subway sub ever recorded
On April 26 2017, a Florida man wrapped the longest subway sub ever recorded as he aimed to create a new world record. The Florida man, named Jones McKinsey, wrapped 26 footlong subs together in an attempt to wrap the worlds longest ever sub.
The sub, which totalled 26 foot long, was measured and accepted as the world’s longest sub, before another man from Florida created a 26 meter long sub, the April after. After being locked in competition for several months, both the Florida men decided to create ‘the final sub’ together, and created a 26 mile long sub, named April after both of their wives.
Our thoughts
April 26th seems to be a date where any Florida man can break a world record and set a new one, although we agree the Florida man who tried to sue Mr.Stallone was just plain stupid. If you’re 26 years old and you were born on April 26th 1990, years after Rocky films were released, you should definitely be able to put 2 and 2 together.
